We are excited to let you know that all the Flips and Wicks have been manufactured, boxed up, and are now waiting to get on the next available boat to be shipped out. Unfortunately QC wasn't finished on all units before the Chinese New Years arrived, which means they'll have to wait patiently til the end of the month before they get shipped out to our fulfillment warehouses.
We're really bummed about this because it's going to force us to push out the fulfillment of the pending 4,069 orders into April. At this point, we estimate shipping to backers will be completed by end of April. We really appreciated your patience with us and what seems to be a continuously dragging fulfillment timeline. We're hoping Chinese New Years will be the last hurdle we face before getting your pledges into your hands.
The first 500 Flips and 500 Wicks arrived at our Salt Lake City office a couple weeks ago and we shipped them out to over 600 backers! These US backers were chosen randomly and should have their new Sparkrs in their hands now (or should have at least received a shipping confirmation email with tracking information).

Happy 2019! We're deep in the throws of manufacturing right now which puts us a little behind our expected timeline for shipping. This delay was due to a problem with the Wick and Flip circuit board that we fortunately found before the assembly of the Flips and Wicks.
Please take the time to read this whole update so that you can ensure the safe and sound arrival of your pledge in the coming months.
THE PROBLEM
There was a small capacitor running in parallel with our charging resistor that was messing with our overheat protection system. In easier terms, sometimes the wick and flip samples would not charge up because the overheat sensor thought that the battery was to hot to begin charging. Fortunately this was a fairly easy fix by just replacing that capacitor to resolve the problem.
NEW TIMELINE
We have now confirmed that the first 500 of each product are completed, packaged up, and on the way to our US warehouse. This is our first initial test run to make sure that manufacturing and assembly was dialed down. The rest of the manufacturing run will be done on the 25th of this month.
We are hoping to get all the units shipped out to our fulfillment warehouses before the Chinese New Year (Feb 5th). As you know shipping to our fulfillment warehouses will take 3-4 weeks to arrive. When they arrive at our warehouses, we'll in turn, ship them out to your door!
We estimate that shipping to Backers will be completed by end of March.

In order to get prepared for these next steps, we will be locking down your shipping address submitted in Backerkit in 48 hours. That means you have two days to update your shipping address if necessary.
If you need to review your shipping address, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://sparkr-flip-and-sparkr-wick.backerkit.com .
If you haven’t answered your survey yet (only 3% of you), you can still fill it out to get your rewards on time.
We’re currently aiming to ship rewards on March. If you need to change your shipping address, please make the changes in your BackerKit survey in the next two days.

Hey Backers,
We're a bit overdue for an updated timeline for fulfillment. We're sorry for taking so long, but we wanted to make sure that we had all our ducks in a row so that this updated timeline would be as accurate as possible. We've worked through the bugs that we saw in our samples so mass production will begin next week! Take a look at the timeline below for full details:
This is obviously assuming that our mass production run goes smoothly, which we're very confident about right now. The changes we've made to the molds and programming look and function great. We'll be sure to keep you posted every month as production progresses.
