Hello EU Backers,
We have officially signed on our previous UK fulfillment partner to help with the Sparkr Flip and Wick shipments to EU! We'll be working with them this week to get all the prep work finished up and get inventory shipped directly to them. Once we finalize the prep work, we'll have a better understanding of the new timeline for when your pledges will be delivered in the EU!
We'll keep you posted as our progress moves along. Once again, thank you for your patience and we look forward to finally getting the Sparkr Lighters delivered to your door!
Cheers,
Kenyon & The Power Practical Team
EU Shipping Update: Quotes received, waiting for one more
almost 7 years ago
– Fri, Jun 28, 2019 at 10:50:50 PM
Hey EU backers,
As promised, we wanted to let you know that we've received a quote from the UK-based fulfillment center and it looks very promising! We're waiting to receive one more quote from an EU-based fulfillment center before we make our decision to move forward (we'll receive it by Monday, July 1st). We should have our game plan moving forward finalized on July 1st and we'll post another update early next week.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding!
Cheers,
Kenyon & The Power Practical Team
June - EU Fulfillment Update for Sparkr Flip and Wick
almost 7 years ago
– Mon, Jun 24, 2019 at 06:58:08 PM
Hey EU Backers,
We have some unfortunate news to share with you today. Our last update outlined a timeline that would have you receiving your orders around the end of this month. Unfortunately, we've hit a barrier again. Amazon EU confirmed that our shipping plan was approved at the end of May, but when we went to print out the labels and prepare our shipments, we received an error message that would not allow us to create the shipping plan and associated labels.
Over the past couple weeks we have been arduously harassing anybody and everybody we can reach from the Amazon EU team and have yet to make any real progress on getting this issue resolved. At this point, we have no idea when they'll be able to fix the problem. This has forced us to begin looking into other options to get your orders shipped out as soon as possible.
Here are the current options that we've found:
1. There's a fulfillment company we've worked with in the past out of the UK that handled our EU shipping for the Luminoodle Color and Basecamp project. We are in contact with them and will be receiving a quote in the next couple of days. This is our preferred method to move forward as we will be able to pre-pay VAT and customs fees and have your orders arrive quickly.
2. Our backup option, is having all the EU orders shipped to your door directly from our office in Shenzhen, China. We have received some initial quotes and it looks promising, but we would be unable to pre-pay the VAT taxes for your orders. This is the main reason why this is our backup plan, as it is not ideal.
As we work through these options, we will continue to keep you updated. We're sorry it took so long to give you an update. We had high hopes that this issue would be solved by now, but we were definitely wrong. We will plan on posting another update by the end of next week with our progress. We are so sorry for what seems to be an endless onslaught of delays for our EU backers. Please if you have any questions, shoot us a note at [email protected] so we can help you out.
Many thanks,
The Power Practical Team
EU Fulfillment Update + New TSA regulations (whomp whomp)

Hey Backers,
At this point, we have shipped out 85% of the orders for the Flip and Wick! All of our U.S. and Canada Backers should have received their new lighters by now. If you live in either of these countries and still haven't received a tracking number or package, please please send an email to [email protected] so we can get your order to you as quickly as possible.
Most of the international orders (not including EU) should have their lighters or at least a tracking number at this time. There are a few orders going to Australian P.O. boxes that have not shipped yet as well as a few orders in scattered countries that have yet to ship. We should have tracking numbers to you in the next few days. If you still haven't received your reward or tracking number, please feel free to send us a note as well so we can help you out.
EU Fulfillment Update:
The majority of the outstanding orders are those of our European Union backers, so we'd like to quickly address what's holding up fulfillment there. We've been working with some issues with Amazon UK where they cut off our ability to ship in new inventory to their warehouse. We've been battling it out through Amazon's not-so-straight-forward support and have had to make some changes to our strategy. Instead of shipping them into the UK, we will be sending them to Germany where they will be shipped out to all EU countries. We just got our shipping plan approved by Amazon.de today and the Flips and Wicks will be on there way in the next few days.
We're expediting their shipment from Shenzhen so they should arrive to Germany in 7-10 days. Once they are checked into the warehouse we'll have all the EU orders submitted and fulfilled. We expect a timeline of around 2-3 weeks before they begin to arrive at your door. We're so sorry it's taken so long.
ATTENTION ALL U.S. BACKERS WHO TRAVEL BY AIR:
TSA regulations have recently been updated and now include "arc lighters, plasma lighter, electronic lighters, E-lighters" as not allowed in carry on bags or checked bags. This unfortunately means that if you attempt to take your Sparkr lighter with you on your journey, there is a good chance that it will be confiscated by a TSA officer.
This news comes as quite the bummer to us as we've made the Sparkr lighters as safe as possible with high-quality Lithium-Ion cells and multiple safeties in order to prevent any accidents. But we're not the only ones that make electric lighters and we've torn apart and tested various cheap versions that we considered to be unsafe and potentially dangerous, so the new TSA ruling is understandable.
We really appreciate your support and patience (especially our EU backers at this time).
Cheers,
Kenyon, David, Caleb, Becky, and Rachel
